When a machine is locked out, the authorized employee scans a QR code, views each step of the procedure, and confirms on the screen that the step was completed successfully.

This offers two major benefits. First, it ensures that the procedure is followed correctly and includes documentation validation. Next, it changes the status of the equipment to “locked out”.

The Smart Safety Pro equipment dashboard displays real-time operating status of all equipment so that program managers verify details without walking out to the machine.

How do I track when periodic inspections are due?

With the Smart Safety Pro lockout tagout app, program managers no longer need to manually track when periodic inspections are due. The software takes over tracking inspections and ensures that a period inspection is triggered every year.

The number of periodic inspections due is displayed at 30, 60, and 90 day intervals. This information is accessible via reporting, the web portal dashboard, and the periodic inspection workflow in the lockout tagout mobile app.

Can I edit a procedure after it is submitted?

After a procedure has been submitted for approval, the approver is able to make edits until the final approval. When a procedure is in an approved status it cannot be edited.

If things change or edits are determined to be needed during a periodic inspection, a procedure can be unapproved. This allows the procedure to be modified as needed and then submitted for reapproval.

This is a quick process that does not require starting over with a new procedure. When a procedure is revised, it is assigned a new ID number and QR code to ensure version tracking and undisrupted history data.
